I actually learned last year that people mark their forehead on ash wednesday. I swear to god, I have neveer seen or heard of that practice....I was at work and I told a cowoker she had some black stuff on her forehead. she told me it was an ash wednesday mark. How could I have live almost 60 years and never heard of that?

seriously? ya ever heard of that whole Lent thang? I believe we even dallied in it when we went to that Presbyterian Church off N.Daughtery (where uncle Bill was deacon/elder).
Um, maybe you should have gone a little bit more....Also, it may have sunk in from dating a guy for seven years who had a BIG Catholic upbringing and the family was "into" it.

yea......... I am gonna give up some of my hair! We have thing at school to raise some money..and you get your head shaved and a free tee shirt if you volunteer.
and honestly I never heard of that cathlic stuff my whole life.
I just like that you refer to Ash Wednesday as "that cathlic stuff" . . . where is Mags, our resident Cat-licker on this one.
I'm jest sayin.......some things I never learned...like I missed a few years here and there I think..may be alcohol or some other youthful events...I can't remember exactly
