"Work" Vic has mentioned this word a couple times and it hit me last night... the term "Work" should really be defined as "a byproduct of one's inability to fully capitalize on the benefits of delegation"
just for the record....back in the day...when I had a real job....my goal was to hire lazy people to be managers every chance I got....that way they would always delegate their jobs and make sure someone else was doing the work....and they had time to look at the big picture...and do my work.....(apparently the Korean company with a branch in Texas has the same philosophy)
I am a graduate of the 'less is more' school of thought. My favorite is when I'm asked what I think we should do about something, I just ask them what 'they' think we should do? Then when they respond with an idea and ask me what I think about it - I ask them what they think about it. And when they ask if I think it will work, I ask them - well do you think it will work? and they think I'm empowering them - which happens to be another one of my strong management attributes.
