If you are worried about raccoons getting to your backyard pineapples........like they have done for the past 2 years........you can borrow chicken wire and rebar from Bay-bo (I think he stole the chicken wire from his brother Glenn's house anyway)...get some trash bag tie-wires....a couple of dollar store noddle floats...and make a raccoon proof cage....all in one afternoon.

No chance.
per googlecoon.com Raccoons are known to unhook simple latches, and ordinary fences will not keep raccoons from gardens or yards, as the animals will either dig under or climb over them. Raccoons readily locate weaknesses in fences and will rip off loose boards or enlarge holes in wire fences for easy access.
So I give it about 2 weeks.
furthermore... (close your ears peta) but most everything I've read says it must be an electrical fence to be effective.
