"Out of Touch" ... "Elitist?"
So I asked my mom earlier today what she was doing over this "three day weekend" and she asked me "What's a three day weekend?" and I said, "It's where you don't have to work for three days" and then she repeated, in a somewhat confused tone .. "Don't have to work for three days??" as if grasping for the answer ... then without further prompting she said "Oh! I'm sorry sweetie, I haven't worked in years" and then I could hear her yelling to my dad in the background "... he just asked us what we were doing since (apparently?) Monday is a holiday and we have what he called a Three day weekend" and then I can hear him laughing, and then she starts to laugh as well.

There is nothing more luscious than the anticipation on Friday afternoon of a 3 day weekend - cleaned the house and did laundry last night so there would be no chores in the way....of what? We totally have no plans - we were going to fly somewhere, but FL is out because of that whole hurricane thing...then Vic offered to help someone move tomorrow... so any ideas? How sad for those who do not work to be robbed of this excitement. Monday is just another day for them...(Did you tell them it was going to be a new month? Or are they kept in the dark about all calendar issues?)
Funny you ask... I was at the bank the other day making a deposit and was on my cell phone talking to her. I was filling out the deposit slip and I asked her, with pen in hand - "oh, what's today's date", and she said "oh, um, October?" which, frankly, was no help really...

Some retired folks can benefit from a home health aide - someone to drop in to check on them, remind them to take their daily medication, etc.
yea I feel really bad for boan and baybo......they are so unfortunate and disabled..... to not be able to get the rush of a three-day-weekend-friday afternoon high.....god almighty....right now I feel pretty damn pumped.......not for sure if it is the 3 day week end .......or just the Franzia .....Iam so mellow I might need to try another web call to polvo et al.
