Last night I ran 4.3 miles straight and couldn’t walk afterwards. I learnt that even the next morning it is hard to walk… and it feels like little monsters with sharp teeth are biting my calves… and when I use the bathroom I have to sort of “fall” or “drop” onto the seat from a decent height… or my thighs will seize up.
I sort of wish I would have learnt this stuff prior to registering for a ‘non-refundable’ half-marathon next month. But the good thing is that a half-marathon is only 13.1 miles.

I learnt I am not in as good a shape as I once was too...I was a little stoved up this morning after walking from the living room to the kitchen several times for refills last night.........
Appreciate the helpful link to the marathon site. I noticed the elevation chart is interactive at the bottom as well. Turns out the first 3 miles is all up hill - that's just GRAND!
Off to the liquor store.
Last night as pat and I were sitting in the living room I said to her, 'I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids to keep me alive. That would be no quality of life at all, If that ever happens, just pull the plug.’
So she got up, unplugged the computer, and threw out my box-o-wine. The bitch.
